Creation of a Natural Stone Fountain
Odzo, an artisan specializing in the design of water walls, brings its expertise to private clients, businesses and public institutions. The quality of its work and the skill of its artisans convinced the municipality of Saint-Chéron, in Essonne, to entrust Odzo with an urban enhancement project. The town gave complete creative freedom to our designers.
The only requirement was to create an original wall fountain rather than a traditional basin.
The Natural Stone Fountain Created by ODZO
The creative freedom granted by the client made it possible to explore both the design and the choice of materials. The location selected for the natural stone fountain is a crossroads between busy streets. Situated along the main shopping area and at the heart of the town, near the town hall and the school, the project entrusted to Odzo carried significant responsibility. A genuine living space needed to be created.
The Importance of Material Selection
Noble and elegant materials contribute not only to the beauty of the installation but also to its harmonious integration within its surroundings. The natural stone fountain echoes the paving stones of the public space. Stainless steel adds a distinctly modern touch while offering excellent resistance to weather conditions and requiring very little maintenance. The warm brown tones of the stone contrast beautifully with the lighter environment.
A Play of Water and Light
Most fountains or basins found in urban spaces are barely visible at night when darkness settles in. This is a real drawback for urban design, as an unlit fountain can make the area feel dim and inactive.
An illuminated fountain equipped with spotlights brings life back to the space even in low-light conditions. It enhances and energizes the public area. Odzo’s artisan designers created a carefully crafted interplay of water and light to offer a truly refined composition. Submerged spotlights placed inside the structure highlight the fountain beautifully at night.
In addition, the three 90-centimeter water blades integrated into the natural stone wall are also illuminated. Their color can be adjusted to add a creative touch. The lighting system even reveals the decorative pebbles at the bottom of the fountain, enhancing the overall visual impact.
The Water System of the Natural Stone Fountain
One of the essential elements of this installation is its water system and overall functioning. The three water blades create a cascading effect at different heights. The flow is perfectly even, forming a true animated visual centerpiece.
Managing fountains in public spaces can often be complex. However, this natural stone fountain requires very little attention. Equipped with a temperature analysis system, it automatically adjusts water treatment to keep the water clear and healthy. The fountain’s longevity and aesthetic quality rely on this precise water management.
Filtration and rinsing cycles are fully automated through filtering foams and a waste removal system. As a result, overall maintenance remains minimal. Whether water evaporates or rain increases the level, the system adjusts the volume automatically.
